Ramoth is here now ph digger:) I didn't know about this site until oberhaus directed me to it yesterday. I'm not going to bomb this site with boxing threads like I do JJ's but I'll be checking any boxing threads that show up.
At the moment it doesn't look like Pac/Mayweather is going to happen anytime soon. Pac might be moving up yet again to fight Yuri Foreman for his title belt at 154. Meanwhile Mayweather may being going to England to fight Matthew Hatton.............a club fighter who happens to be Ricky Hatton's brother. Even Joe Calzaghe never dug so deep down the barrel in search of a safe opponent.

Bout time:)
Anyways I think we need some good boxing threads started on here.
March 13 is what I heard for the Mayweather/Pac fight. I sure hope it happens, boxing needs a huge fight like that right now.

It looks like March 13th is the day, I hope it holds up. Boxing needs a huge fight right now? I would say boxing ALWAYS needs a big fight but sometimes there are no huge fights to be made.

I think that UFC has taken over the boxing spectical on the TV. I have seen 33 UFC fights and boxing you have to pay for now on direct tv and dish but versus is free and almost all the ufc fight nigts are on free but the main event fights you have to pay for. I think UFC will take over the boxing world in the next couple of years but thats my Opinion.

If that were going to happen it already would have. The UFC has been a huge help for boxing at time when boxing needed it. The sport is in much better shape now than it was around 2003-2006 time frame when it produced all of one big fight in four years(Hopkins/De La Hoya).

I think tns is right in a way. UFC has taken over boxing and in a huge way. And i think the main reason is because you have to pay so much to watch any boxing anymore. They have killed boxing with these high PPV rates. In the meantime, you can go to a lot of bars and other places and they have UFC on with huge crowds watching it. Why would a facility even bother to buy a PPV fight when you can get free UFC and people like watching it? Honestly, I cannot stand UFC, it's too much like big time wrestling, but i know a lot of people who watch UFC every chance they get and have probably never even seen a boxing match. At the rate boxing is headed, they may never get to either. I've recently heard people say that they don't follow boxing because there are no big names anymore. Then I throw out some names and they've never heard of them. That's what happens when they don't allow the public to watch it.

Don't believe it. The fight is well over two months away, got to keep it in the news somehow. This kind of stuff always happens when a big fight is scheduled so far out. The Pacquiao/Cotto fight was supposedly in danger of being cancelled because Cotto might not put his belt on the line for the fight.......................and there were people dumb believe that to be true.
Mayweather has an established, verifiable history of ridiculous demands trying to make the rules for a fight with him different than the rules from any other fight in America and Pacquiao keeps moving up in weight and keeps putting naturally bigger men down......not just beating them, stopping them.
Have boxer "A" demand drug testing that does not apply to any other fight then have boxer "B" refuse said testing. This has had the desired effect, the lovers and haters of both boxers are out in force across the internet and in the media.
I think the fight will still go forward on March 13th.
