Okay, I know there are a few people with interest in SBC Girl's hoops here already.
Who are the favorites this year?
I'd have to assume that Clyde is towards the top?
Who do they have coming back?

Clyde has (So.)Rachel Smetzler 15.1 ppg (Jr.)Spencer Robles 12.9 ppg (Jr.)Kaylea Griffin 16.0 ppg 13.0 rpg (Sr.)Lauren Meyer 8.0 ppg and (Sr.)Kelsey Keegan 6 ppg and Alesha D. who last year was at the 6th man spot . Last year Clyde finished tied for 2nd with a league record of 11-3 and overall 16-5.
Perkins lost All Ohio 1st teamer B.Caudill which is a huge hole to fill , but have some really talented freshman coming up this year in Ebert and Mullins and a couple others. (So.)Fraley should be one of the key players for this young team and (Sr)Fitzpatrick i look for good things out of her this year to . Last year finished tied with Clyde for 2nd at 11-3 and 17-6 overall.
SMCC should have a really good year , returning there top 2 players in (Sr.)Phillips who avg 14.6 ppg and (Sr.) Christman 14.3 ppg . I look for big things from this team who last year had two great games against Clyde which they lost in a last second heart breaker 58-57 and they beat Perkins 44-39 . SMCC finished 8-6 in the SBC and 13-8 overall
Port Clinton will have there team leader back in Buchanan who avg 12.0 ppg last year and Day will also be a big factor in PC year. Buchanan also tied for 4th alltime Ohio record for free throws made in a single game last year. PC was 1-13 in the SBC and 4-17 overall last year.
Huron has some nice talent coming back in (Jr)Volz 13.5 ppg and (So) Estel and Grendal (NOT SUR OF SPELLING) being huge factors for Huron . Last year Huron went 4-10 in the SBC and 6-15 overall.Volz also finished 4th in the state in golf this year CONGRATS.
Margaretta a team that has avg 18 wins a season for the last 27 yrs . They lost a TON from' last year . There freshman and JV teams had good seasons last year and some of those girls are going to have to fill BIG shoes in . They do return one key player in Coy. Margaretta won the SBC last year with a 13-1 record lone loss to Clyde and finished 21-4 overall made made to the Regional Finals before losing to Liberty Benton .
Oak Harbor even when they are down they make you work for every point you get , i think Coach Keller does a great job over there . Lipstraw 12.1 ppg will be there key returning player with Deithenfeller (NOT SURE OF SPELLING AGAIN LOL) in the post is another player i think could have a good year. Last year OH finished 4-10 SBC and 7-14 overall.
Edison lost there top 2 playersfrom last year in Robinson who avg almost 20 ppg and Elbers. (So.) Knight is the key player returning for them this year , good all around athlete . Last year they finished 4-10 SBC and 7-14 overall
I know the OH Coach is ####er but it wont let me spell it.

You really think Oak Harbor will be 7th? Wow.
Diefenthaler (by the way) - smile. Hegemier will be back as well.
Having limited knowledge, I'd go with this:
1. Clyde 2. St. Mary's 3. Perkins 4. Margaretta 5. Oak Harbor 6. Huron 7. Port Clinton 8. Edison

I think it will be a dog fight 5 thru 7 , it could go either way to tell you the truth.

I made it late to the scrimmage but from what i seen and what people said from the start the girls looked pretty good . There are very solid in all positions on the floor this year . They have a scrimmage at Olentangy HS with them and Lima Bath this saturday .

Just jumping on board to OHSN...looks promising from what I've seen. I agree with much of gravedigger's points. I think this year's SBC championship is really the Clyde Flier's to win or lose. That is not to say that there are not some other teams that will not compete and have something to say. I think SMCC will be as good as they have been in awhile (the Panthers could make some noise in the D-IV playoffs) I think Perkins (like last year) will be better than people think going in. Huron has some really good athletes on that team and they learned something important last year...how to win a game or two by playing as well in the fourth quarter as they did in the first two. Margaretta always has kids that can play basketball...but they really do have a major turnover this year. Oak Harbor is a team that could surprise just because they have a good coach and always seem to have a number of kids who can play. Port Clinton and Edison are teams that are going to struggle even though they have a good player or two. Just brief observations that will make me look...well, one way or the other in time
